Favorites from 2014!

Happy new year!

To look back on 2014, I am doing a post about my favorite books/movies/music from 2014. For this blogpost, it’s not important if the books (for example) are written in 2014, it is important if I have read them in 2014. The same goes for the movies and the music :)

So, let’s begin with the books.

I’d like to start off with The Fault In Our Stars. What a wonderful book! This is definitely one of my favorite books ever.

I also read the Divergent series last year; divergent, insurgent & allegiant. Though I don’t quite like the ending of allegiant, I still love the series. It’s a good combination of love & “adventure”.

Last summer, I read The Carrie Diaries & Summer And The City. I loved both of them. They’re not extremely special or anything, but just nice books to read when you’re bored :)

Lastly I want to mention City Of Bones, the first book from The Mortal Instruments. I’m not recommending the whole series just yet, since I haven’t even finished the second book, but I’m pretty sure I will when I’ve read all of them. It took me a while to really get “into” City Of Bones, but when I did, I couldn’t stop reading.

So, let’s get to the movies! :)

My favorite Disney movies last year were Frozen and Tangled. I actually liked Tangled even a little bit more than Frozen to be honest. Tangled is from 2010 or something like that, but I hadn’t seen it before. Both of the movies make you feel happy about the ending :)

Then there is The Fault In Our Stars, based upon the book. Wow. What an incredible movie! I’m glad they didn’t change much about the story.

I saw The Notebook just a few days ago, but it immediately is one of my favorite movies ever. It’s just a beautiful love story! If you haven’t seen it yet, you should definitely watch it some time soon!

Another movie with Rachel McAdams in it — she’s also in The Notebook — : About Time. Also a love story, even though this one is completely different: this one includes traveling back in time! :)

Divergent, based upon the book, is also one of my favorite movies from last year. I can’t wait for Insurgent!

Easy A was a movie I saw on Netflix and I just thought like, “Okay, let’s watch this one, it’s probably funny,” but I liked it better than I expected I would! I watched it twice :) It’s a movie in the genre of Mean Girls. Completely different though, but it’s that kind of girls-night movie :)

My favorite music from last year:

Justin Bieber was definitely my favorite artist last year, but he’s probably my favorite artist ever, so that can’t be a big surprise. I listened a lot to his Music Journals & his album Believe last year.

I also kind of “discovered” Marina and the Diamonds, and I’ve been listening to her album “Electra Heart”.

I also loved Taylor Swift’s new songs “Shake It Off” and “Blank Space”.

2014 was also the first year I started listening to Arctic Monkeys, I loved their album “AM”.

It was also the first year I started listening to The Pretty Reckless (due to Gossip Girl, since Taylor Momsen had Jenny’s role, and I knew Taylor had a band now, so I wanted to check her music out :)). I like their songs Blame Me, Heaven Knows, Messed Up World & You.

I’ve also been obsessed with Heartstrings for a while, Leighton Meester’s newest song.

I loved the songs Birdy made for The Fault In Our Stars, especially Not About Angels. The other song she made for TFIOS is Tee Shirt. It’s beautiful as well.

That was it for this blogpost! I hope you liked it :) What are your favorites from 2014?

Hiiii :)

This post is going to be about Emma Watson and Shailene Woodley. They’re two of my favorite actresses, and I think they’re both inspiring girls. I also love Rachel McAdams, by the way.

Shai                                                                                                                    So, about Shailene Woodley. The first movie I saw with Shailene in it was “Divergent”, based on the book. She was amazing. She really is Tris in that movie. When I saw “The Fault In Our Stars”, in which Shai has the role of Hazel, I found her an even better actress; while watching “The Fault In Our Stars”, I almost couldn’t believe it was the same actress as the one who played Tris. She still looks the same (despite her short hair in “The Fault In Our Stars”) but she acts so different. It doesn’t feel like the same person, it feels like Tris and Hazel. And that’s exactly how it should be. I also think Shailene is a nice person, I watched some interviews with her on YouTube, and she just feels so “real”. So, I guess all this explained why she’s one of my favorite actresses ;)

Emma                                                                                                                 I’ve always loved Emma. When I saw “Harry Potter” for the first time (I was 9 years old :)) Hermione was my favorite character. When I read magazines and Emma was on the cover, I was like really jealous of her, because I thought she was sooo pretty (I still think Emma’s really pretty by the way)! Anyway, she’s also just a really good actress. Of course she was really good in “Harry Potter”, but that’s certainly not the only movie in which I loved her. I saw “The Perks Of Being A Wallflower” not too long ago, and she is great as Sam! Just like Shailene Woodley, Emma also seems like a really nice person to me!

Who’s your favorite actress?

Favorite movies and TV-series

Autumn is coming, and everyone knows it. It’s a fact, and it makes some people, like me, very happy. It also makes some people kind of sad. I want to make everyone’s autumn a little better, even if you already like autumn (yay! :)). It’s the time for watching movies all day, baking cake, drinking hot chocolate, wearing sweaters. If you don’t know which movie you should watch, this is the post for you, cause I am going to share my favorite movies and TV shows with you :)

Favorite movies:

- The fault in our stars, I don’t think I need to tell you what it’s about, haha :)

- Clueless, a romantic movie about popular girls and a makeover. Do I need to say more? :)

- Notting Hill, the ultimate romantic movie about a love between a famous actress and a random guy from Notting Hill.

- Divergent, just like ‘the fault in our stars’ I don’t think I need to tell you what it’s about :)

- High School Musical, perfect for a girls night :)

Favorite TV shows:

Gossip Girl, oh my god, I LOVE that show! It’s about rich teenagers in New York, and way more interesting than it sounds :)

- New Girl, it’s just really funny :)

- Modern Family, also really funny, AND very ‘real’, if you know what I mean.. :)

I hope you’ll have fun watching these, and that you’ll have a wonderful autumn :)

I told you before that I was reading Divergent, but I hadn’t decided yet if I was going to do a book review about it. But I have decided now and here the review is :)
So everyone knows what Divergent is about but, I don’t care. I’m just going to tell you and you can choose by yourself if you’re going to read that part of the post :p

So it’s about Beatrice (Tris, in the biggest part of the book) who lives in the future; the world is split up in factions by then. A faction for the honest -Candor-, a faction for the intelligent -Erudite-, a faction for the brave -Dauntless-, a faction for the kind -Amity- and a faction for the selfless
-Abnegation-.
Then there are the factionless, people who failed initiation for the faction they chose. Cause you have to choose the faction you’ll be in for the rest of your life (unless you become factionless) when you’re sixteen.
Tris is sixteen and she has to choose.
She (and all the others who are choosing their faction this year) has to do the aptitude test. The test will say in which faction you truly belong, so it’s easier to choose. But Tris’s test results are more than one faction.. She’s Divergent. That’s dangerous, but she doesn’t know why. And which faction will she choose when she has to make the decision all on her own; without test results?

I read the book and it’s fantastic! Sometimes it’s really romantic, and then suddenly Tris is almost going to die, if you know what I mean.
It will keep your attention till the end - and then you really want to read the second book, Insurgent.
So that’s what I’m doing; reading Insurgent! I’m loving this part too!

So go read Divergent! :)
